Obituary

Karen S. (Witham) Boyd, 70, of Wolcottville lost her battle with lung cancer Sunday, November 27, 2016, at 7:40 p.m. in Life Care Center of LaGrange with her family at her side.

She was a lifetime area resident.

She was born March 28, 1946, in Kendallville to Ernie and Ruth (Pierce) Witham.

On January 1, 1973, in Wolcottville she married Charles Boyd. He survives in Wolcottville.

Also surviving are a son, David (Tina) Patrick of Wolcottville; a daughter, Ruth Patrick of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Tiffany Patrick, Mykel Hornor, and Jeff Patrick; two brothers, Roger (Sandra) Witham of Wolcottville and John (Nancy) Gill of Sturgis, Michigan; and special friends, Shelby (Debi) Terry of Wolcottville.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Burtchel Patrick; and three brothers, Jerry Pierce, Ralph Witham, and Harvey Gill.

In accordance with Karen's wishes, cremation will take place.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, December 2, 2016, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Rev. Clarence Combs of Five Corners Baptist Church, Wolcottville officiating.

Calling will be Friday, December 2, 2016, from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association.
