Karen M. Bloom, 64, of Kendallville, Indiana, died unexpectedly Monday, April 15, 2024, in the ER at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.

She was born on April 13, 1960, to Wayne D. and Margaret Lorraine (Lorenz) Bartman.

A few years after receiving a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 2008, she retired from KPC Media in Kendallville where she was the Advertising Director. Prior to working at KPC Media she had worked for The Times Newspaper in Munster.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville.

Karen was a talented artist, painting many beautiful pieces. She also enjoyed volunteering when she was able.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, David and Felicia Bloom of Kendallville; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Steve Gradek; two grandchildren, Connor Bloom and Rosemary Bloom; a sister and brother-in-law, Lorrie and Daniel Wolf of Parkville, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved guide dog of ten years, Nikki.

Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9, North, Wolcottville and one hour prior to the funeral services on Tuesday.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Dr. Philip Rigdon officiating.

Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
