Julie Rene' (Kilgore) Hettenbach, 53, of Louisville, Kentucky and formerly of Wolcottville died Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the University of Louisville Hospital.

She had lived in Louisville for 15 years. She was a graduate of Lakeland High School and Vincennes University.

She was known as the "Queen of Resource Development" at Mary Grace Jaeger Education Center where she worked as a research technician. She loved working there with the fundraising campaigns for Metro United Way, Whas 11 Crusade for Children, and Fund for the Arts, and was instrumental in making them very successful.

Julie loved for her family and friends. Her favorite things to do were to play with her granddaughter and grandson. She also loved cooking, going to the movies, farmers markets, and gardening. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all.

She was born October 30, 1958, in Wolcottville to David and Hannah (Haney) Kilgore.

Surviving are two daughters, Jessica Hettenbach of Louisville, Kentucky, and Jenna Hettenbach of Louisville, Kentucky; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Galati; a grandson, Skyler Biggerstaff; her father and stepmother, David and Michelle Kilgore of Wolcottville; a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Marc Adams of Chicago, Illinois; a brother, Doug Kilgore of Miller Beach, Indiana; and her grandmother, Virginia Kilgore of LaGrange.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hannah Kilgore on December 18, 2006.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Carldean Merrifield and Rev. Frederick Cain officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.

Calling is Friday, September 7, 2012, from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.

Memorial services in Louisville, Kentucky will be on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Middletown Christian Church.
