Judy Irene Russell, 81, of Wolcottville died Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler.

She was born July 30, 1941 in Kendallville to Cliffton and Margaret (Musselman) Smart.

On August 18, 2004 she married John Russell. He survives in Wolcottville.

She had worked for 27 years at Machine Rite in LaGrange.

Judy was a member of Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church.

Also surviving are three daughters, Pam (Carl) Green of LaGrange, Penny (Mike) Lego and Peggy (Nate) Anderson all of Three Rivers, Michigan; a son, Lyle Newcomer of LaGrange; ten grandchildren, Kristen Conley, Kyle Green, James Cyndari, Kasey Yackee, Nathan Anderson, Natalie Harris, Courtney Buckhold, Justin Lego, Stephanie Thomas, and Andrew Newcomer; eleven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald (Roberta) Smart of Florida and Jerry (Sue) Smart of Wolcottville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rose Wilson; and a brother, Kenny Smart.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
