Obituary

Judith D. Schmierer, 77, of Rome City, and formerly of Lansing, Michigan, died Monday, April 9, 2018, at 5:16 a.m. at her residence.

She was born April 28, 1940, in Lansing, Michigan, to Donald and Onalee (Egler) Brockhaus.

Mrs. Schmierer was a homemaker and had worked as a dental assistant when her children were young.

She resided in this area for a year, coming from Lansing.

Surviving are two sons, John (Gennene) Schmierer of Rome City and James (Lisa) Schmierer, Jr. of Houghton, Michigan; a daughter, Joleen Schmierer of Muskegon, Michigan; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Schmierer, Sr.; and a brother, Donald Brockhaus.

There will be no visitation or services.
