Judith A. Reed, 75, of LaGrange, Indiana died Monday, January 8, 2024, at The Waters of LaGrange.

She was born February 24, 1948, in Marion to Victor D. Cheney and Doris June Miller.

She married Sheldon Owen Smith, Sr. on November 9, 1968. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1998. She then married Douglas Reed on September 1, 2000. He survives in LaGrange.

Judith retired from Pent Assemblies in Rome City as a receptionist.

She enjoyed doing puzzles, painting, reading, and living in Florida. She was an avid Elvis fan. She dearly loved her grandchildren and going to their many activities.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tiffany Smith of LaGrange and Dawn Arnett of LaGrange; a son, Scott (Jennifer) Ransburg of Middlebury; three stepdaughters, Martina (Mike) Ort of Wolcottville, Terri (Shannon) Christian of Albion, and Tia (Todd) Shutt of Garrett; a stepson, Ty Reed of Hudson; six grandchildren, Shannon Ransburg, Cody Ransburg, Chantel Duty, Kassidy Conley, Brandon Anderson, and Angela Arnett; several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, James (Sallie) Franklin of Ontario.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristine Sue Ransburg; a son, Sheldon Owen Smith, Jr.; and two sisters, Mary Narkter and Brenda Souder.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 12, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.

Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Wolcottville.

Visitation is Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
