Obituary

Juanita J. Owens, 69, of LaGrange died Sunday, December 30, 2007, at 1:08 am in Parkview LaGrange Hospital. She had been in failing health the past two years, and had resided at Life Care Center in LaGrange.

Mrs. Owens had lived in the Stroh and Wolcottville area most of her life. She worked as a waitress and cook at area restaurants. She was a member of the Five Corners Baptist Church, Wolcottville.

She was born August 18, 1938, in Knott County, Kentucky, to Carl & Minnie (Bolen) Coburn.

Surviving are five grandchildren, including Corey Owens of LaGrange; four sisters, Wanda Ritchie of Kendallville, Deb Williams of LaGrange, Mary Vanderpool of LaGrange, and Virgie Blankenship of Topeka.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Gregory Owens and Thomas Owens, two sisters, Lola Fay Coburn and Jewell Short, and three brothers, Rufus Coburn, Louis Ray Coburn, and Irvin Jr. Coburn.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 3, 2008, at 2 pm at the Five Corners Baptist Church, Wolcottville with Pastor Clarence Combs and Pastor Tom Tuttle officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2, 2008, from 2-9 pm at the church where there will be an evening service at 6 pm. Preferred memorials are to the family.
