Joyce Maxine Taylor, 85, of Wolcottville died Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 12:06 p.m. in Parkview LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange.
She moved to Wolcottville in 1965, coming from Kendallville. She attended Kendallville High School, and was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church.
She retired as a seamstress from Starcraft in Emma.
Maxine enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and baking. She loved her little dog, Cuddles.
She was born November 19, 1926, in Kendallville to Joseph Andrew and Maude Caroline (Franks) Lash. On August 6, 1960, she married Gordon Lee Taylor. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1969.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary and Pat Wooten of Rome City, Michael and Marcia Wooten of Wawaka, and Keith Wooten of Wolcottville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Theresa and Marc Guenin of Kendallville and Margery Taylor of Wolcottville; 14 grandchldren; 31 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a nephew and his wife, Robert and Gloria Lash of Huntertown; and a cousin, James E. Lash of Garrett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Howard Lash, Vernon Lash, Maynard Lash, Charles Lash, and Carroll Lash; a sister, Margurite Lash; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Wooten.
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City with Father Bernard Ramenaden officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
Pallbearers will be Marc Guenin, Ronnie Howard, Keith M. Wooten, Wyatt Wooten, David DeRemer, Dean Click, and Todd Wooten.
Calling is Tuesday, August 14, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville. Pastor James Archambeault will share memories at 7 p.m.
