Joyce Ann Hicks, 48, of Ligonier died unexpectedly Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.

Mrs. Hicks was a homemaker, and had previously worked at Parker Hannifin in Ligonier. She was baptized in the Lighthouse Tabernacle in Kimmell.

She was born March 9, 1962, in Floyd County, Kentucky, to Ed and Hazel May (Taylor) Beverly. On February 14, 2004, in Kimmell she married Mark T. Hicks. He survives in Ligonier.

Also surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Jamie and Darin Harmon of Ligonier and Katie Jacobs of Ligonier; two sons, Jonathan Jacobs of Rome City and Donovan Jacobs of Jackson, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; eight sisters, Hettie Parsons, of Michigan, Velma Ringwald of California, Brenda Ringwald of Ohio, Carrie Mullins of Kentucky, Diane Keltch of Kentucky, Barb Dick of Ohio, Peggy Rogers of Kentucky, and Ada Johnson of Alabama; one brother, Andy Beverly of Kentucky; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William Hicks, Jr. and Mable Hicks of Ligonier.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. in God's Harvest Barn, 10980 SR 5, Ligonier with Pastor Wade Kizer, Pastor Glen Patrick, and Pastor Purda Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Calling is at the church on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, after 3 p.m. and all day Wednesday, January 12, 2011.

Preferred memorials are to the family.

Arrangements are by Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.
