Hudson Town President and longtime firefighter, Joshua Douglas Odom, 33, of Hudson died unexpectedly Thursday, May 11, 2023 at his residence.
He was born June 30, 1989, in Cheboygan, Michigan.
On May 27, 2011, in Fremont, he married Carla (Kuhn) Olson.
Josh was the Fort Wayne branch manager with Hose and Automation a division of Depatie Fluid Power. He was also a freelance podcast producer and a 16-year member of the Hudson Fire Department.
He enjoyed watching wrestling, singing karaoke, grilling/smoking, listening to music, especially rock music, being a DJ, photography, and videography. Anyone who knew Josh knew that he was very skilled in computers and loved everything techie. But by far, the most important thing to Josh was his family, he loved spending time with them, especially his kids.
Surviving are his wife, Carla Olson of Hudson; a daughter, Lauren Olson of Hudson; a son, Everett Odom of Hudson; his mother, Sarah (Steve Crawley) Eiler of Mount Pleasant, Michigan; his father, Ward Odom of Minnesota; his birth father, John Beach of Angola; two brothers, Phillip E. (Mikayla) Beach of Angola and Scott H. Odom of Hudson; maternal grandfather, John E. Eiler of Jackson, Michigan; maternal grandmother, Shirley Eiler of Jackson, Michigan; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jeffrey L. and Susan Kuhn of Hillsdale, Michigan; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, John P. and Jean Eiler, and Roy Howard.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 19, 2023, at 7 p.m. at Hudson United Brethren Church, 516 North Main Street, Hudson with Pastor Craig Burkholder officiating.
Visitation will also be on Friday beginning at 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Preferred memorials are to Carla for the kids' education fund.
