Obituary

Joshua Torian Jank, 29, lived and loved with a big heart. He was born in St. Louis Missouri on January 5, 1994, to his loving birth-mom, Tera. Adopted at 6-months, he is the oldest child of Tim and Brenda Jank and big brother to Samuel (Tricia) Jank of Buckley, Washington, Joseph Jank of Albion, Indiana, Anna Jank of Yantai, China, and Noah Jank of Avilla, Indiana.

Despite being born with Sickle Cell Anemia, Josh had a tenacity for life, including a great passion for farming and aviation. Monthly blood transfusions, beginning at age 5, gave Josh access to a healthy and vibrant childhood.

Diagnosed with a rare liver/lung disease in 2013, Josh entered Hospice Care. He defied all odds. His medical care team and all who knew him, recognized that Joshua was a walking miracle. More than a Bucket List, Josh had a Go Make a Difference list, and through small things done with great love, Josh made a difference in the lives of others.

Joshua was diagnosed in September with metastasized Esophageal Cancer. He passed into the arms of Jesus on November 11, 2023, at his home near Albion, Indiana. Josh "fought the good fight and finished his race."

Josh was on a mission to share Red Diamonds, as a way of sharing HOPE, with those he knew, those he met, and those who had a special place in his heart—the hurting, the lonely, those who are often marginalized by others. When passing out a diamond, he would say, "It's RED because love makes a difference. It's a DIAMOND, because God does amazing things under heat and pressure. Here's some more. I bet you know some people who could use some encouragement!" Learn more by visiting Facebook or www.RedDiamondDays.com.
