IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joshua Ray
Fender
November 9, 1985 – January 23, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua Ray Fender on January 23, 2025, at the age of 39.
Josh was a cherished son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend to many.
Born on November 9, 1985, in Kendallville, Indiana, Josh grew up with a love for the outdoors that would shape much of his life. He found joy and peace in cultivating lush vegetables, sharing his bounty with family and neighbors. His green thumb was only matched with his love for fishing. Many of his happiest days were spent by the water, rod in hand, enjoying the serenity of nature and the thrill of the catch.
Josh had a warm heart and a generous spirit. He was known for his kindness and compassion for others.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Perry Fender and Mary Christie of Albion; his mother and stepfather, Marilyn (Moore) and Rwen Marks of Rome City; brother, Keith Fender of Dahlonega, Georgia; sister, Brooke Leininger of Fort Wayne; maternal grandparents, Dalton Moore of Rome City and Jeanette Moore of South Milford; paternal grandfather, Lloyd Morrow of Butler; and paternal grandmother, June Fender of Angola. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by countless loved ones.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Richard Fender and Melody Morrow.
A celebration of Josh's life will be Wednesday January 29, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Harbor of Love Baptist Church 2353 S Lima Rd, Kendallville with Pastor Charlie Mosley officiating.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church.
Burial will follow at Woodruff Cemetery in LaGrange County.
Pallbearers are Perry Fender, Keith Fender, Ethan Kline, Trent Boyd, Chris Sparkman, and Zach Fender.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida, 33607. Envelopes will be available at the church.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
