Obituary

On January 21, 2022, Josephine Shipe of Anniston, Alabama, and formerly of Wildwood, Indiana, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 after a brief illness. Josephine was a loving mother and homemaker with a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. She was a supporter of the East Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy Center, member of Oakridge Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her family grieves her loss but is heartened by the many wonderful memories of their time spent together. Josephine is survived by her sons, John Michael Ritchie, Robert Wayne Ritchie, Donald Lee Shipe, Charles Dennis Shipe and Carl Andrew Shipe; her daughter, Treasa Jane Hall, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.; and her brother, JW Combs. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor James Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Woodruff Cemetery near Wolcottville. Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The East Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy Center, 415 Castle Avenue, Anniston, Alabama, 36205.
