Josephine P. "Josie" Blackwood, 86, of Kendallville died Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at her residence.
She was born September 26, 1932, in Racine, Pennsylvania, to Giuseppe and Giuseppina (Zaffaroni) Guzzetti.
On April 24, 1954, in Beaver, Pennsylvania, she married Leonard Blackwood. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1998.
Mrs. Blackwood did secretarial work in the trucking industry.
She is a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville. She enjoyed volunteering at Parkview Noble Hospital, Health and Wellness Center and the Friendship Food Pantry.
Surviving are five sons, Thomas (Dawn) Blackwood of Michigan, Joseph Blackwood of Angola, William Blackwood of Kendallville, Randolph (Kimberly) Blackwood of Wayne, Michigan, and Christopher Blackwood of Wayne, Michigan; two daughters, Terri (Brett) Edwards of Kendallville and Victoria (Patrick) Martin of Plymouth, Michigan; nine grandchildren, Amy (Jeremy) Hamilton, Evan (Elizabeth) Edwards, Kendall (Ashley) Edwards, Nathan Edwards, Lucas Blackwood, Brian Blackwood, Andrew Blackwood, Jessica Martin, and Amanda Martin; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Eugene (Angelina) Guzzetti of Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Blackwood; two daughters, Deborah Blackwood and Cynthia Maitland; and a brother, Dr. Albert Guzzetti.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 4, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville with Father James Stoyle officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Onaway, Michigan.
Calling is Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Preferred memorials are to Parkview Noble Home Health and Hospice or to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
