Obituary

John L. Kendrick, 71, of Kendallville died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at 1:55 a.m. in his residence following a long illness.

Mr. Kendrick has lived in this area for 39 years, coming from Kentucky. He was a supervisor at Newnam Foundry in Kendallville from 1967 to 1988. Prior to that he worked in Hindman, Kentucky, as a televesion and radio reparman. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Kendallville.

He was born April 9, 1938, in Lackey, Kentucky to the late William Miles and Goldie (Harper) Kendrick. On November 24, 1960, in Larks Lane, Kentucky, he married Betty L. Owsley.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Betty L. Kendrick of Kendallville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Terry Molargik of Albany, Georgia, and Karyn and Hamed KounyaLi of Kendallville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John E. Kendrick of Kendallville, and Anthony and Dian Kendrick of Kendallville; eight grandchildren, Les Lottes Jr, John Thomas Bivins, Sarah Bloomfield, Katlyn Bloomfield, Jeff Bloomfield, William Bloomfield, Tora Anne and Leif Thompson, and Samantha Kendrick; and a brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Dolores Kendrick of Benton Harbor, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Bachorski and Ruth McCoy and a brother, Paul Kendrick.

A memorial service will be Monday, June 1, 2009, at 5 p.m. in the Church of Christ, 307 East North Street, Kendallville with Pastor Ellis Crum officiating.
