Obituary

Joan Patricia Sobieski, 90, of Kendallville died Monday, May 30, 2016, at 1:48 a.m. in Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.

She was a lifetime area resident.

She had worked at Kendallville Laundry and Dry Cleaning, Puritan Ice Cream Company, and Richards Restaurant, all in Kendallville.

She was born March 14, 1926, in Kendallville to Matthew and Mary Ann (Dreyer) Sobieski.

Surviving are a daughter, Tammy (Jack) Rhodes of Kendallville; three grandchildren, Joni (Matt) Lazoff of Hudson, Jeni (Josh) Ekovich of Avilla, and Jonathan (Jennifer) Rhodes of Kokomo; and five great-grandchildren, Ty ler Ekovich, Kalyn Ekovich, Piper Ekovich, Ally Lazoff, and Emmy Lazoff.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Waunita Hursey; and two brothers, James Sobieski and William Sobieski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 301 East Diamond Street, Kendallville with Father James Stoyle officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Thursday, June 2, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the church.

Preferred memorials are to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
