Obituary

Jill Renee Blankenship, 53, of Hudson died Monday, August 9, 2021, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne.

She was born January 19, 1968, in Defiance, Ohio, to the Reverend Robert D. and Deborah A. (Rosendale) Sims. They preceded her in death.

On May 4, 2006, in Angola she married Doug Blankenship.

Mrs. Blankenship worked at Bon Appetit at Trine University for 15 years where she was a cashier and hostess.

Jill loved being in the water and swimming with her granddaughter. She enjoyed roller coasters, reading, being with her family and her dog, Rocky.

Surviving are her husband, Doug Blankenship of Hudson; a son, Austin Keck of Ashley; a stepson, Chad Blankenship of Ashley; a granddaughter, Gabriella Keck; a sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Jeff Asher of Avilla; and a brother, Jeff Sims of Red Bluff, California.

Visitation is Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Orange Cemetery near Rome City with Pastor Mike Hamm of the Stroh Church of Christ officiating.
