Jerry E. Bowman, 93, of LaGrange, Indiana died Thursday, August 24, 2023, at his residence.

He was born March 4, 1930, in Bluffton to Howard and Ruth (Brinkman) Bowman.

He married Mona J. Mowery. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2004.

Mr. Bowman honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1956.

Jerry had been a truck driver and owned Jerry's Bait and Tackle in Stroh. Prior to moving to Big Turkey Lake, he owned and operated Main Cigar Store and Restaurant in Bluffton along with his wife Mona.

He is survived by a son, Tracy Bowman of LaGrange; six grandchildren, Lisa, Alicia, Tuffy, Gregory, Jr., Gina and Mark; and a sister, Rebecca Mounsey of Bluffton.

Jerry was also preceded in death by three sons, Rick Bowman in 2010, Gregory Bowman in 2015, Jeffrey Bowman in 2022; two sisters, Mary Alice Bennett and Nancy Franze; and a brother, John Bowman.

There will be no visitation or services.

Burial will be in Wright Cemetery near Stroh.
