Jeffrey Eugene Jeffries, 80, of Kendallville, Indiana died Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at his residence with his family at his side.

He was born August 13, 1946, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Fowler Eugene and Lucille Mamie (McCoy) Jeffries.

On March 16, 1968, in Richmond he married Sheila Shull.

Mr. Jeffries honorably served his country in the United States Army.

He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, from old hot rods and painting cars to hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR. But more than any hobby, he loved being with his family. Some of his favorite times were spent gathered around the table for family dinners that seemed to go on forever or sitting down for a game of chess or Sorry. It wasn’t about what they were doing, but about being together and enjoying one another’s company. His family meant everything to him, and the time spent with them was what he treasured most. Those shared meals, friendly games, and everyday moments will be remembered with love, bringing comfort to his family as they hold close the memories of a man who loved them with all his heart.

Surviving are his wife, Sheila Jeffries of Kendallville; two sons, Willaim E. (Tyana) Jeffries of Wolcottville and James R. Jeffries of Kendallville; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Jeffries of Ocoee, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of life services will be announced at a later date.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
