Jeffrey D. Grate, 64, of Waterloo, Indiana, died Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at his residence.

He was born December 8, 1958, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Stanley and Donna (Stonebraker) Grate.

Mr. Grate was a farmer and a truck driver owner/operator transporting modular homes.

Jeff enjoyed monster trucks and hotrod cars.

Surviving are two daughters, Amanda (Ryan) Dunn of Auburn and Crystal Grate of Antwerp, Ohio; two grandsons, William Dunn and Albert Dunn; his mother and stepfather, Donna and Michael VanHorn of Kendallville; a half-brother, Roger Grate of Fort Wayne; and a half-sister, Ann Marie Grate of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Grate.

Visitation will be Monday, November 6, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Regan Ford officiating.

Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery, Corunna.
