An open house and celebration of life service will be held at the Twin Six in Wolcottville on Sunday, January 18, 2014, from 2 to 5 p.m. for all his family and friends. ********************************************************************************* Jeffery L. Ransbottom, 54, of Witmer Lake, Wolcottville lost his battle with cancer on Friday, December 26, 2014, in his home surrounded by his family.
He was a lifetime area resident, and a graduate of Garrett High School.
He was an Army veteran who was proud to serve his country.
Mr. Ransbottom was employed at O'Reilly's Auto Parts in Kendallville as a parts specialist. Having previously worked at Evans Chrysler in Kendallville for over 20 years, he was a "Chrysler" guy most of his life where he made many friends.
Jeffery was an easy-going guy who loved the lake and enjoyed a good time with friends. Though outwardly shy, he enjoyed conversations and the occasional political debate. With a personality all his own, you never knew when he might make you laugh or just say the right thing to get you through a rough time.
He lived a good life and was loved by many. Though his body has left us, his spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him.
Jeffery, we will always miss you.
He was born February 26, 1960, in Coldwater, Michigan to Sherman E. and Viva Jean (Worthington) Ransbottom.
Surviving are his partner for life, Daryl Sheley of Witmer Lake; their dog, Max; five sisters, Pam (Earl) Brown of Indianapolis, Cindy (Dave) Wehr of South Carolina, Delsie (Steve) Tarlton of Garrett, Viva (Greg) Williams of Wolcottville, and Karen Holbert of Elkhart; four brothers, Eddie Ransbottom of Indianapolis, Rick Ransbottom of South Carolina, Mike (Kim) Willey of Kendallville, and Sherman (Nicole) Pike of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Lorie Ransbottom; and his dog, Hershey.
An open house and celebration of life service will be held at the Twin Six in Wolcottville on Sunday, January 18, 2014, from 2 to 5 p.m. for all his family and friends.
