Jeannette A. Jacob, 89, of Kendallville died Saturday, September 3, 2016, in Kingston at Dupont in Fort Wayne.
She was a lifetime area resident.
Mrs. Jacob was a homemaker and a farmer's wife.
She was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville, past president of the Noble County Extension Homemakers for two terms, and was a longtime active member of Farmerettes and Fun & Fancy Extension Homemakers Clubs. She was also a member of the Kendallville Garden Club.
She served on the Noble County Community Fair Board, Noble County Extension Board, and the 4-H Exhibit Corporation Board. She did volunteer work at Parkview Noble for eight years, and was a life member of the McCray Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Jeannette enjoyed farm life and creative projects. Throughout her life she traveled extensively.
She was born July 27, 1927, in Garrett to Hudson and Beatrice (Morris) Hays.
On December 16, 1945, in Garrett she married Robert F. Jacob. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1995.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Steve Scheurich of Kendallville; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Eugenia Jacob of Kendallville; four grandchildren, Jim (Holly ) Scheurich of Kendallville, Lisa (Mike) Hooser of Corunna, Blaine (Raquel) Jacob of American Fork, Utah, and Erin (Ryan) Hunter of Lehi, Utah; nine great-grandchildren, Lindsey Hooser and Megan Hooser both of Corunna, Cade Jacob, Bailey Jacob, Dylan Hunter, Logan Hunter, Mason Hunter, JoceLyn Hunter, and Addison Hunter all of Utah; and a brother, Richard Hays of Florida.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Treesh and Jo McWilliams; and two brothers, William Hays and Hudson Hays.
Per Jeannette's wishes, private services will be held with burial in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
Preferred memorials are to Trinity Church United Methodist or the Alzheimer's Association of Northeast Indiana.
