Obituary

Jeanne E. Harrod, 86, of Avilla died Friday, August 14, 2015, at 3:00 a.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.

She was a lifetime area resident and a 1947 graduate of Kendallville High School. Jeanne and her twin sister, Joan were the first set of twins born at McCray Memorial Hospital in Kendallville.

Ms. Harrod had worked as a waitress.

Jeanne was a member of Eastern Star and Trinity Church United Methodist.

She was born May 1, 1929, in Kendallville to Joseph and Ruth (Becker) Trowbridge.

Surviving is a daughter, Melanie (Harrod) Meskell of Santa Ana, California; a son, Byron Harrod of Williamsburg, Virginia; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a twin sister, Joan Crothers; and a brother, Phillip Trowbridge.

Memorial services will be Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Presence Sacred Heart Home, Avilla, with Chaplain Tom Novy officiating. Private burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
