Obituary

Jean Cook, 75, of Kendallville died Monday, July 12, 2021, at Coventry Meadows Retirement and Assisted Living Facility in Fort Wayne.

She was born November 4, 1945, at MacDill Air Force Base near Tampa, Florida, to John and Anna (Matusik) Ivanco.

On March 12, 1966, at Camp Pendleton, California, she married James A. "Jim" Cook. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2021.

Mrs. Cook was a registered nurse, having worked at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne and the Kendallville Day Care Center in Kendallville.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville. She was also a life member of Kendallville American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary and Kendallville VFW Post 2749 Auxiliary.

Surviving are two sons, David Cook of Elkhart and Matthew (Kim) Cook of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Christina (James) Heine and Benjamin (Katelynn) Cook; four great-grandchildren, Kayden, Raylan, Braden, and Lylah; a sister, Susan Davies of North Hundington, Pennsylvania; and a brother, Mark (Annette) Ivanco of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Danny Ivanco.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Roger Ford officiating.

Visitation is Saturday, July 31, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Restland Memorial Park in Monroeville, Pennsylvania.
