Obituary

Jay D. Thompson, Jr., 41, of Kendallville died Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in the Emergency Room at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.

He was born August 18, 1979 in Bluffton to Jay D. Thompson, Sr. and Marie (Nash) Thompson.

He married Amanda Lloyd on June 18, 2005 in Albion. She survives in Kendallville.

Mr. Thompson worked at Indiana Phoenix in Avilla.

Jay loved animals, four wheeling and shooting guns with his friends.

Also surviving are two daughters, Melissa (Marty) Hackenmueller of Monticello, Minnesota and Shayla Thompson of Montana; three grandchildren, Wyatt Hackenmueller, Wren Hackenmueller, and Trinity Getts; his father, Jay D. Thompson, Sr of Bluffton; his mother, Marie Winkler of Bluffton; two sisters, Tamera (Cody) Whitehouse of California and Tosha Cruz of Wolcottville; and a brother, Josh (Brittany) Winkler of Fort Wayne; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Getts; and his step-father, Roy Winkler.

A celebration of life service will be held in the spring.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
