Jay Anthony Middleton, 71, of Kendallville, Indiana, went to his final resting place on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Jay was born February 7, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Richard L. and Gloria R. (Hagan) Middleton. They preceded him in death.

He retired as a CNC operator at Hendrickson's in Kendallville. He later painted for R&K Painting.

Jay was a proud member of AA, where he actively served and shared his passion for recovery with gentleness. When you met Jay, he became a trusted and caring friend. He was fortunate to have had time with many of his longtime friends, meeting weekly for playing pool or one of his favorite pastimes of fishing.

He was baptized and attended Independent Full Gospel Church in Ashley.

Surviving are a son, Jesse (Ariel) Middleton of Pleasant Lake; two grandchildren, Braxton Middleton and Cadie Middleton; three step grandchildren, Haylee, Damien, and Maddux; a brother, Mark R. (Gina) Middleton of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Billie Jo Rupert of Auburn, Jodie (John) Evans of Auburn, and Connie Middleton of South Bend; several nieces and nephews; and his caregiver and special friend, Lori Middleton of Kendallville.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a service at 2 p.m. at Independent Full Gospel Church, 1000 South Gonser Avenue, Ashley with Pastor Sam Weimer officiating.
