Janice Lee Wright, 71, of Kendallville, died Monday, December 25, 2017 in Naples, Florida, where she and her husband were spending the winter.
Mrs. Wright was born in Warsaw on July 23, 1946, to Ernest Lee Merriman and Virginia Lee (Napier) Merriman.
She moved to the Kendallville area in 1979. She graduated from East Noble High School and honorably served her country in the United States Army Reserves from 1978-1987.
On May 12, 1979, in New Haven she married Edward Dean Wright.
Janice was employed with Magnavox, now Ratheon, of Fort Wayne for 35 years before retiring in September of 1999. She was the financial secretary for the union Local 254 of Allied Industrial Workers. She was a member of the Kendallville V.F.W. Post 2749 Auxiliary.
Janice loved her family and friends, going to the beach, living on Cree Lake in the summertime, and spending her winters in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Wright of Kendallville; a son, John Lee Rencher, Jr. of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Tonya (Steven) Foor of Angola; son-in-law, Bill Beavers of Zephyrhills, Florida; a grandson, Khristopher Foor of Defiance, Ohio; a granddaughter, Cara Beavers of Zephyrhills, Florida; and six great-grandchildren, Cambren Beavers, Keila Beavers, Liam Beavers and Kaylia Beavers; and Molly Foor and Ryan Foor.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jody Beavers.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018, at noon at VFW Post 2749, 127 Veterans Way, Kendallville with Pastor Chris Stephens of Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with local arrangements.
