Janet C. Dietrich started the final chapter of her being on Monday, January 29, 2024, at her residence.
Janet C. Dietrich was born to Joseph Kurczek, Jr. (Janet G. Kurczek) and Vicki Bock (Paul Heywood) on November 14, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois.
Surviving are her daughter, Robyn Anne (Bobby Joe) Gentry of Kendallville; son, Jon Joseph (Patricia Yam) Gavaris of Hannibal, Missouri; granddaughters, Brittany Marie Rizzo, Anna (Tim) Krystek, Tanya (Zach) Gentry, Stormie (Joey) Gentry, Stephanie, Kortney Gavaris, Samantha Gavaris, and Colleen Gavaris; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, John (Bridget) Kurczek, Jim (Julie) Kurczek, Leslie (Mikko) Kurczek, Pattie Walsh, Douglas Heywood, Leisa Heywood; two nephews, David Kurczek and Sam Kurczek; a niece, Ally Kurczek; and cousins galore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ari; three brothers, Paul Kurczek, Jeff Heywood, and Brad Heywood; and a great-grandson, Adam Lawson.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, woodworking, fishing, crafting, bingo, and countless other hobbies.
A memorial service is Friday, June 28, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
Preferred memorials may be directed to the family and sent to the funeral home.
