Jan Louise Burtch, 74, of Golden Lake died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at her residence.
She was born January 28, 1945, in Auburn to Dale and Naomi (Garman) Heitz. They preceded her in death.
On January 15, 1966, in Sturgis, Michigan, she married Richard A. Burtch. He survives at Golden Lake.
Mrs. Burtch retired as a teacher from Children's First Center in Steuben County. Prior to that she taught elementary school in Indiana, Ohio, and Alabama.
She was a member of the Angola Women's Club.
Jan loved playing Mahjong and did so two times a week in Angola. She also enjoyed country line dancing with her husband.
Surviving are a daughter, Mollie (Byron) Galloway of Woodbridge, Virginia; two sons, Brian ( Radha) Burtch of Oak Brook, Illinois, and Carson Burtch of Woodbridge, Virginia; four grandchildren, Katie Galloway, Kyle Galloway, Saahitya Malapati, and Siddarth Malapati; and a sister, Sue Berry of Auburn.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 12 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson with Nelson Deuitch. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Pleasant Lake.
Calling is Saturday, September 7, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Children's First Center.
