Obituary

James Christian Rector, 55, of Kendallville and formerly of Elkhart died Thursday, August 8, 2019, at his residence.

He was born March 20, 1964, in Terre Haute to Roy Rector, Jr. and Judy (DeShone) Rector. His parents survive in Granger.

On March 26, 1985, in Elkhart he married Dawn Renee Brown. She survives in Kendallville.

Mr. Rector had been a store manager for Walgreens for 23 years. He currently was the store manager at Casey's in Ligonier.

James enjoyed watching movies and all sports.

Also surviving are four daughters, Brittain (Chad) Smith of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Sydney Rector of Berea, Ohio, Willow Rector of Charleston, South Carolina, and Haven Rector of Charleston, South Carolina; a son, Dustin Rector of Kendallville; four granddaughters, Jayden Smith, Kylie Smith, Paityn Smith, and Mila Smith; two sisters, Sandy (Jeff) Robison of Pennsylvania and Julie (Tim) Blue of Elkhart; and a brother, Andrew (Tiffany) Rector of Mishawaka.

Visitation will be Monday, August 12, 2019, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Preferred memorials are to the Humane Society of Noble County.
