No services are planned **************************************************************************************** James William "Jim" Pierson, Jr., 64, of Kendallville died Friday, October 31, 2014, at 12:50 a.m. in his residence.

He was a lifetime area resident.

Jim graduated from East Noble High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1969 to 1971 and received a purple heart.

He worked in construction for Hipskind Asphalt, and was also a self-employed auto mechanic.

He was born January 31, 1950, in Kendallville to James W. Pierson, Sr. and Janice L. (Hoover) Pierson.

On June 11, 1992, in Albion he married Dinah L. Pyck.

Surviving are his wife, Dinah L. Pierson of Kendallville; two stepsons, Jason Pyck of Kendallville and Joshua Pyck of Kendallville; and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Pierson, Sr.; his mother, Janice L. (Hoover) Wells; and a sister, Sandra K. Pierson.

There will be no services or viewing.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
