James Morris, 76, of Rome City died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 6:51 p.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.
Mr. Morris moved to this area in 1955, coming from Austin, Indiana.
He retired fromStarcraft RV, working in Wolcottville, Topeka, and Goshen.
He was born January 17, 1935, in Prairie County, Kentucky, to Malcom and Laura (Eldridge) Morris. On June 27, 1981, in Stroh he married Betty Webster. She survives in Rome City.
Also surviving are a son, Rick (Nan) Morris of St. Joe; two daughters, Claudetta (Billy Joe) Ritchie of Emmalina, Kentucky, and Loretta Combs of Fruitland Park, Florida; five grandchildren, Keith Morris, Billy James Ritchie, Mark Ritchie, Joey Duszynski, and Frank Duszynski; a step grandson, Austin Wynn; two brothers, Dave Morris of Austin and Jr. Morris of Hazard, Kentucky; and two sisters, Delphie Dozart of Austin and Dicie Whitehead of Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters, Gracie Stidham, Ruby Colwell, Alberta Abner, Bertha Watson, Anna Stidham, Hazel Baker, and Edna Mae Ritchie; two brothers, Roy Morris and Mark Morris; and a grandson, Michael Morris.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at 3 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, with Pastor Clarence Combs of Five Corners Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery.
Calling is Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
