Funeral services will be Sunday, January 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the Maple Grove Church, 806 South Main Street, Topeka.
Calling is Saturday, January, 17, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the church and one hour prior to services on Sunday. ******************************************************************************* James "Jim" Helmuth, 75, of Topeka died Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 1:55 a.m. in Life Care Center of LaGrange with his family at his side.
He was a lifetime area resident.
Mr. Helmuth retired after 35 years with Supreme Corporation in Goshen where he worked in management.
He was a member of the Maple Grove Church in Topeka.
Jim always put God first, followed by his family and friends. He loved fishing and watching his grandchildren play sports.
He was born December 14, 1939, in Nappanee to Henry H. and Lydia Ann (Hostetler) Helmuth.
On March 17, 1962, in Topeka he married Anna Mae Kauffman. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa (Tim) Nowaskie of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Brenda Lambright of Elkhart; a son, Jeff (Tonya) Helmuth of Topeka; ten grandchildren, Kathy (Nick) Baughman of Mishawaka, Angela (Sam) Brown of Goshen, Josh Lambright of Elkhart, Kristopher Helmuth of Pierceton, Kameron (Autum) Helmuth of Huntertown, Natasha (Michael) Handshoe of Topeka, Darren Stillson of Topeka, Leighann Kesterman of South Bend, Eli Nowaskie of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Gabe Nowaskie of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren; and five brothers, LeRoy (Inez) Helmuth of Goshen, John (Cora) Helmuth of Nappanee, Elmer Helmuth of Nappanee, Lester (Esther) Helmuth of Nappanee, and Mahlon (Mary) Helmuth of Piedmont, South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Carl Lambright; three sisters, Katie Yoder, Clara Yoder, and Martha Helmuth; and three brothers, Oscar Helmuth, Andy Helmuth, and Victor Helmuth.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the Maple Grove Church, 806 South Main Street, Topeka with Pastor Barry St. Clair officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka.
Calling is Saturday, January, 17, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the church and one hour prior to services at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of his wife, Anna Mae.
