A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 6 p.m. in the Worship Center at St. John Lutheran Church, 301 South Oak Street, Kendallville with Rev. Dr. Robert Shriner officiating.
Calling will be Thursday, May 7, 2015, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church. *************************************************************************************** James Vallee "Jim" Fortier, 58, of Kendallville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 1:40 a.m. in his residence with his family at his side.
He had lived in this area for 15 years, coming from Fort Wayne.
Mr. Fortier had worked at Flint & Walling in Kendallville.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville. He also worked in the fitness center at the Cole Family YMCA in Kendallville for many years
Jim was an awesome loving family-man who cared so much about others. He was an avid Packers fan. He dearly loved his dogs, Gizmo and Cody.
He was born October 19, 1956, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Welton Fortier, Sr. and Georgia (Demos) Fortier.
Surviving are a daughter, Amy S. (James M.) Zehr of Kendallville; a son, Mark Fortier of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Ashley Zehr of Kendallville, Bailey Zehr of Kendallville, Brody Zehr of Kendallville, and Shane Stockman of Fort Wayne; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Georgiann James of Elkhart, Annette M. (Randy) Hines of Kokomo, and Pamela A. (Darryel) Amos of Fort Wayne; a brother, Thomas V. (Cheryl) Fortier of Dousman, Wisconsin; and his fiancé, Tianna Fortier of Kendallville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Ann Fortier, and two brothers, Daniel V. Fortier and Theodore V. Fortier.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 6 p.m. in the Worship Center at St. John Lutheran Church, 301 South Oak Street, Kendallville with Rev. Dr. Robert Shriner officiating.

Preferred memorials are to the family. Envelopes will be available at the church on Thursday.
