James Bolen, 75, of Kendallville died Tuesday, April 22, 2008.
Mr. Bolen had worked at the Kendallville Foundry, retiring in 1999 after 41 years. He had lived in the area most of his life, coming from Kentucky. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was born July 5, 1932, in Garrett, Kentucky, to Whitley and Lottie (Frazier) Bolen. His father, Whitley Bolen, and his mother, Lottie Hicks, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Jerra Collins of Kendallville; two daughters, Becky Hogle of Kendallville and Barbara Latta of Kendallville; one son and daughter-in-law, James Whitley and Bonnie Bolen of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Tia Latta, Christopher Hale, Tiffany Hale, and Machaela Bolen; two step grandchildren, Kara Quinn and Tabby Muniz-Quinn; one sister, Violet Chapman of North Carolina; and three brothers, Inn Bolen of Churubusco, Blanton Bolen of Michigan, and Ellis Ray Hicks of Kendallville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Bolen, a sister, Oma Hicks, and two brothers, Clifton Bolen and Shirley Boy Hicks.
Services will be Friday, April 25, 2008, at 5 p.m. at the Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Officiating will be Rev. Raymond Warner of the Indian Village Church of God in Auburn.
Calling will be Friday, April 25, 2008, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
