Jackie Slone, 70, of New Port Richey, Florida, died Saturday, November 10, 2018, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was born April 24, 1948, in Knott County, Kentucky, to Oscar and Winona Slone. His family moved to this area when he was ten, and he was raised in Rome City.
Mr. Slone worked in construction.
Having a love of adventure and being a free-spirit, Jackie enjoyed living life to the fullest. He loved the beach, cars, and, most importantly, his family.
Surviving are his companion, Danielle Slone of New Port Richey, Florida; a son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Mary (Slone) Williams of Rome City; nine grandchildren; seven sisters, Jean (Boyd) Owsley of Ligonier, Wilma Blankenship of Kendallville, Phyllis (Lampros) Bellos of Pretty Lake, Faye (Mark) Godsey of Rome City, Diane Combs of Emmalena, Kentucky, Kathy (Robert) Robinson of Wolcottville, and Deb (Lee) Hastings of Cleveland, Tennessee; and two brothers, Jim Slone of Kimmell and Phillip (Anne) Slone of Auburn.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with the Reverend Willie Collins officiating. Burial will be in Woodruff Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are Jesse Fugate, Cameron Williams, and Chase Miller. Active pallbearers ae Mark Godsey, Ken Ramey, Rod Ramey, Ben Castle, Jim Slone, Phillip Slone, and Charles Miller.
Calling is Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
