Obituary

Jack Edward Spillner, 64, of South Bend died Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at 2:10 a.m. in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend.

Mr. Spillner grew up in Wolcottville. He resided in the Fort Wayne State School for a number of years. For the last 15 years he resided at the Dungarvin Twyckenham Group Home in South Bend. He had worked at Logan Industries in South Bend for eight years.

He was born July 30, 1944, in Wolcottville to Gerald F. "Jerry" and Katherine M. (Biddle) Spillner.

Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Katherine M. and William Blanchard of Edwardsburg, Michigan; a sister and brother-in-law, Sherril L. and Gregory Garlat of Union, Michigan; a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel G. and Judy Spillner of Eagan, Minnesota; and two stepsisters, Brenda Perry of LaGrange and Patricia Parker of Hudson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald "Jerry" Spillner on September 20, 2007, and a brother, Johnny Spillner.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 13, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, with Rev. Jack Thomas of the Wolcottville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.

Calling will be Friday, February 13, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Dungarvin Twyckenham Group Home, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
