Obituary

Jack B. Smith, 84, of Kendallville died Saturday, July 30, 2016, in Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville.

He was a lifetime area resident.

Mr. Smith was a farmer.

.Jack honorably served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1952 to 1954.

He was born August 4, 1931, in Noble County to Marion E. and Mary (Rimmel) Smith.

On April 7, 1956, in Kendallville he married Eleanor M. Wentworth. She survives in Kendallville.

Also surviving are two daughters, Deborah K. Anspaugh of Florence, Arizona, and Susan M. Conley of West Palm Beach, Florida; three grandchildren, Sarah Pryor, Patrick Anspaugh, and Melissa Anspaugh; and two great-grandchildren, Blake Rowley and Carly Pryor.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dean R. Smith.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 1 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Chris Stephens of Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Calling is Wednesday, August 3, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the Disabled American Veterans.
