Obituary

Jack Lee Freed, 64, of Lafayette and formerly of Kendallville died Monday, September 14, 2009, at 11:30 p.m. in Heritage Health Care, West Lafayette.

Mr. Freed was a welder for LaBour Pump Company in Elkhart for 30 years. He retired from Food Finders Food Bank in Lafayette.

He was born March 13, 1945, in Kendallville to Berl and Orpha (Acker)Bates.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya & Juan Gonzalez of Lafayette and Tammy Freed and Jaime Carillo of Mexico; 12 grandchildren; and three brothers, Frank Freed, of Kendallville, Dale Freed of Elkhart, and Terry Smith of Avilla.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 19, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, with Rev. Leon Pomeroy of Faith United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the South Milford Cemetery.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
