Ira H. Leslie, 84, of Ashley, Indiana, died Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born August 11, 1940, in Garrett, Indiana, to John Allen and Margaret M. (Burger) Leslie.

On June 14, 1989, in Fremont he married Debbie Stackhouse.

Mr. Leslie retired from BorgWarner (now Auburn Gear) in Auburn.

He was a member of One Truth Christian Outreach in Kendallville.

Ira loved to fish. He enjoyed guns, knives, and riding on his Wheel Horse lawnmower. In his younger days, he was very good at basketball.

Surviving are his wife, Debbie Leslie of Ashley; two sons, John (Jody) Leslie of Sebring, Florida and Jeff Leslie of Corunna; three daughters, Kelly Ritter of Fortville, Kristine (Eric) Swenson of Indian Harbor Beach, Florida, and Courtney (Tony) Lawson of Garrett; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sally (Ken) Freed of Rome City.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Joan Weeks, Sue Ann Smith, and Jane Ann Leslie.

Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson.

The funeral service will be Monday, October 21, 2024, at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ralph Linthicum officiating.

Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery.
