Obituary

Herman R. Sells, 61, of Rome City, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 8, 2008, at 7:28 p.m. in the emergency room at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.

Mr. Sells had lived most of his life in Noble County. He retired in 1992 from the Fort Wayne Foundry after working there for a number of years. He attended Harbor of Love Baptist Church in Kendallville.

He was born June 9, 1946, in Garrett, Kentucky, to Curtis and Martha (Coburn) Sells.

Surviving are Kay Frances with whom he made his home for the past 20 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Tim Smith of Wolcottville and Kim and Russell Schwarz of Avilla; two sons and daughters-in-law, Herman C. Sells, Jr. and Anna Sells of Wolcottville and Jimmy R. Sells and Angel Lovins of Rogers, Kentucky; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Anna Mosley of Kendallville and Norman and Deb Sells of Kendallville; six sisters and three brothers-in-law, Velma Lorene and R.L. Thompson of Trinity, Texas, Alice Fay and Harlis Hall of Georgetown, Kentucky, Zeda Hoover of Kendallville, Lucretta Duncan of Martin, Kentucky, Bonnetta Stacy of Kendallville, and Myrie and Dave Trueblood of Kendallville; 17 grandchildren, Jackson Schwarz, Kole Schwarz, Chelsea Sells, Shay Owsley, Zack Sells, Curtis Sells, Corey Sells, T.J. Sells, Nathan Wolfe, Brandon Garrison, John Clawson, Amy Clawson, Timmy Smith, Jeremy Smith, Chad Smith, Corey Smith, and Brad Smith; and four great grandchildren, Noah Owsley, Rebecca Owsley, and Faith Godsey, and Mary Ann Marie Clawson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Marvin Ray Sells, and a sister, Freda Lawson.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Harbor of Love Baptist Church, with Pastors Ernie Miller, Charlie Mosley, Phil Lucas, and Willie Collins officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Honorary casketbearers will be Herman Sells, Jr. and Jimmy Ray Sells. Active casketbearers will be Jim Hall, Randol Hall, Marvin Hoover, Brandon Garrison, Harland Smith, Dan Miller, Nathan Wolfe, Dave Trueblood, and Zachary Sells.

Calling will be Tuesday, June 10, 2008, after 3 p.m. and all day Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the church with evening services at 7 p.m. both nights.
