Helen Louise Watson, 84, of Kendallville died Sunday, May 27, 2018, at 7:20 a.m. at her residence.

She was born September 22, 1933, in Howe to John Henry and Bernice Maude (Hayworth) Rayner. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1951.

Helen was first employed as a telephone operator in Sturgis, Michigan. In 1966, she started with Taylor-Made in Kendallville where she worked for 40 years.

She was a member of Harbor of Love Baptist Church in Kendallville and was also a past member of the Farmerettes Home Demonstration Club in Kendallville.

Helen enjoyed vegetable gardening, flowers, and attending church. She also liked reading, traveling, and family get-togethers.

Surviving are a son, Jeffrey Fish of Bloomington; three daughters, Jan (Paul) McKee of Lakeside, Texas, Jaci Gordon of San Diego, California, and Jo Wells of Garrett; three stepdaughters, Doris Alleshouse of Kendallville, Cheryl Hayes of Hazard, Kentucky, and Trena Watson of New Mexico; four grandchildren, Krisanna Solis of Burleson, Texas, Stacy Lepley of Albion, Donald Joseph "DJ" Wells of Avilla, and Nadine Kline of Kendallville; 13 great-grandchildren; many step grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lou Prough of LaGrange.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Oliver Dean Fish in 1982; her second husband, Fred Watson in 1996; a grandson, Kevin Salisbury; three brothers, Bernard Rayner, Lloyd Rayner, and Donald Rayner; a sister, Dorothy Carpenter; and brothers-in-law, Carl Carpenter, and Lyle Prough.

Services will be Friday, June 1, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Harbor of Love Baptist Church, 2353 South Lima Road, Kendallville with Pastor Charles Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Brighton Cemetery in Brighton.

Honorary pallbearer will be Doris Alleshouse. Active pallbearers will be DJ Wells, Scott Nusbaum, Paul McKee, Tony Mead, Luther Godsey, and Eugene Mosley.

Visitation is Thursday, May 31, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church. An evening service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Preferred memorials are to Harbor of Love Baptist Church.
