Obituary

Helen M. Lindley, 94, of Wolcottville, Indiana, died Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.

She was born March 30, 1929, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Howard and Mildred (Boger) Kruse.

Mrs. Lindley was a teller at People's Federal Credit Union, now Horizon, in Columbia City and LaGrange.

She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Wolcottville and the Rome City American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary.

Helen was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, having held several positions. She was also a collector of angels and loved listening to music, especially the greats from the 50's.

Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca DeSpirit of Crystal Beach, Florida, and Nancy L. Jordan of Safety Harbor, Florida; a son, Dennis E. Cade of Sylvan Lake, Rome City; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Jim Lindley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald E. Cade in 1973; two brothers, Robert Kruse in 1988, and Richard E. Kruse on October 19, 2013.

Memorial services will be held at the Rome City American Legion Post 381 at a later date.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
