Harold R. Weppler, 74, formerly of Dallas Lake died Sunday, December 25, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. in Miller's Merry Manor, LaGrange.
He was a graduate of Winamac High School, and honorably served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Weppler worked as an Indiana State Police Officer from 1963 to 1987. He then became an investment advisor, owning and operating Abacus Investments in Topeka and Michigan City.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Kendallville and a past member and president of the Michigan City Exchange Club.
Harold enjoyed golf, I.U. basketball, and Notre Dame football.
He was born March 7, 1942, in Winamac to Clyde and Hazel (Howeisen) Weppler.
On October 23, 1971, in Michigan City he married Sandra (McKinney) Beebe.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Weppler of Goshen; two sons, Ronald (Jennifer) Beebe of Bargersville and Greg (Lisa) Beebe of Goshen; a grandson, Zach Beebe of Goshen; two granddaughters, Maegan Beebe of Bargersville and Emma Beebe of Goshen; a brother, Kenneth Weppler of Winamac; a niece, Amanda (Weppler) Gibson of Westfield; and his dog, Trooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Barbara Kopka and Bonnie Tam.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the First Christian Church, Kendallville with Rev. Dr. Thomas Clothier officiating. Private burial will be at the Marion National Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
