IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harold D.
Perry
January 20, 1930 – September 5, 2014
There will be no services.
*****************************************************************************
Harold D. "Hank" Perry, 84, of Albion died Friday, September 5, 2014, at 2:20 p.m. in his residence.
He was an honorably discharged Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Over the years as a result of the experience he developed strong anti-war sentiments. Mr. Perry was employed for years as a master-class foundry molder, mechanic, and auto painter before starting a business as an importer. He was strongly concerned throughout his life with the rights, safety, and dignity of the working man. Due to this concern he was heavily involved with various union organizations of which he served as a steward and president of two different locals.
Hank was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast. He had a large number of friends in the cycling community and very much enjoyed riding and building bikes. As such, he had a long, active, and adventure filled life. He always felt that life's journey was not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting: "Holy S***, what a Ride!"
He was born January 20, 1930 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to John Conhoufer and Violet (Stientz) Conhoufer-Perry.
He married Loretta Watkins. She preceded him in death in December of 1989.
Surviving are four sons, Harold A. (Reneé) Perry of Albion, David Perry of Albion, Dennis (Linda Watts) Perry of Elizabethtown, KY, and Daniel (Sarah) Perry of Auburn; three grandchildren, Cameron Perry, Amber Barile-Perry, and Gabrielle Perry; his companion, Cindy Parker of Albion; two brothers, Richard Perry of Garrett and David Perry of Ligonier; and a sister, Joyce Whittaker of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Perry; two brothers, Charles Perry and John Perry; and a sister, Grace Perry.
There will be no services.
