Harold Eugene Gussman, Sr., 89, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born April 7, 1935, in North Judson, Indiana, to Frederick W. and Ruth (Zacker) Gussman.

On October 3, 1999, in Kendallville he married Geraldine "Jeri" (Caudill) Clugston. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2014.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army.

Harold had worked at JO Mory in Avilla as a manager.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville, American Legion Post 86 in Kendallville and the Kendallville VFW Post 2749.

Surviving are a son, Harold (Charlotte) Gussman, Jr. of Riverview, Florida; three daughters, Christine (Mark) Rucinski of Monticello, Sherry (James) Frye of Highland, and Debra (Wright) Bateman of Washington State; six grandchildren, Nicole (Ronald) Skiff, Tara Jones, Harold (Melissa) Gussman, III, Jacqueline (Hunter) Rycerz, Wesley (fiancé, Chelsea Aragon) Gussman, and Zachary Frye; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Skiff, Connor Skiff, and one due May 15, 2025, Grayson Rycerz.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Brian and Lindsay; and two sisters, Lorraine R. Simpson and Arvella D. Wilhite.

Graveside services will be Monday, April 7, 2025, at 12 p.m. central time at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Kouts.
