Haley Nichole Watkins, 12, of Portage, Indiana, died from the results of an auto accident on Saturday, June 4, 2022, in Lake County, Indiana. She was born September 24, 2009, in Munster, Indiana to Stephanie Watkins. She was raised by her grandmother, Valerie Watkins who survives in Portage. Also surviving are her birth mother, Stephanie Watkins of East Chicago; two sisters, Jasmin Kenniger and Natasha Kenniger; and a brother, Chance Kenniger all of East Chicago. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Fred and Mattie Buffo. A private visitation will be held locally. Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements. A graveside service will be Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Stallard Family Cemetery near Mallie, Kentucky with Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home in Hindman, Kentucky, assisting the family.
