Obituary

Golda Irene Russell, 89, of Wolcottville died Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 5:48 a.m. in Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.

She resided in the area for all but ten years of her life, when she resided in Florida .

She worked at several area factories including McCray Refrigeration, where she worked for 31 years, and Monsanto for 10 years.

Mrs. Russell was a member of Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church ; Lady Lake United Methodist Church in Lady Lake , Florida ; two Square Dancing Clubs in the Kendallville area; and she was a Secretary for the McCray Union.

She was born February 29, 1924 , in Kendallville, to Henry Floyd & Dorothy (Hill) McCreary. In 1940 she married Eldon Robert Russell, Sr. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2006 .

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Judy Russell of Wolcottville and Eldon Robert Russell, Jr. and Jan Russell of Wolcottville; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Larry Bruner of Wolcottville; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 10 Great Great Grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold McCreary of Summerfield, FL, and David and Mary McCreary of Wakarusa.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Bainter; and a sister-in-law, Margaret McCreary.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be conducted at a later date in Florida .
