Gloria Trier-Simonton, 66, of Wolcottville died Friday, October 07, 2011, at 3:45 a.m. in her residence on Big Long Lake surrounded by her family.
She was a 1963 graduate of Kendallville High School. She received a degree as an LPN from Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne and a bachelor's degree as an RN from The University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne in 2004.
She was owner and operator of The Cellar, a ceramic shop in Kendallville for many years. She was a Registered Nurse at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for seven years.
Gloria was a member of Destiny Family of Faith in Kendallville.
She enjoyed spending time on the lake with her family and friends. She loved going to all of her grandchildren's activities.
She was born December 2, 1944, in Kendallville to Floyd and Loretta (Faulkner) Maxson. On February 14, 2009, in LaGrange she married Thomas Simonton. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Lisa Trier of Wolcottville, Michele (Bryan) Romer of Kendallville, Penny Becker of Kendallville; a son, Powell (Sandi) Simonton of Kendallville; and eight grandchildren, Katrina Romer, Derek Romer, Paige Romer, Myah Romer, Shaely Simonton, Shobi Simonton, Samantha Becker, and Austin Becker of Kendallville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marie Guard; a step sister, Audrey Keller; and two step brothers, Floyd Maxson, Jr. and Richard Maxson.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at 2 p.m. in Orange Cemetery near Rome City with Pastor Mike Albaugh of Destiny Family of Faith officiating.
Calling is Monday, October 10, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
