Gloria A. Chapman, 88, of Rome City, Indiana, died Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born February 24, 1936, in Noble County, Indiana, to Samuel and Nora (Bailey) Eberly.

She graduated from Wawaka High School.

On June 15, 1957, in Knox County she married John A. Chapman. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2003.

Mrs. Chapman was a homemaker.

Gloria enjoyed flowers, gardening, and bird watching. Visiting shut-ins was her passion. She loved her dog, Bella and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving are four sons, Fred (Ellen) Chapman of Howe, Alan (Deb) Chapman of Rome City, Greg (Cindy) Chapman of Big Lake, Minnesota, and Tim (Julie) Chapman of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Connie Arrington of LaGrange and Sara (Richard) Bowers of Kendallville; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James (Barbara) Eberly of LaGrange.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Mildred (Ramer) Eberly; and a sister, Mary Jane Squire.

Visitation will be Monday, November 25, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville

Her funeral service will be Monday, November 25, 2024, at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Herendeen officiating.

Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Pallbearers are Fred Chapman, Alan Chapman, Greg Chapman, Tim Chapman, Richard Bowers, and Jordan Chapman.

Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Noble County.
